The Rajasthan High Court on January 12, 2017 ordered film director Sanjay Leela Bhansali to show the movie ‘Padmaavat’ in the court before January 23. The directions were given by the court while hearing a quashing petition filed by Bhansali requesting to quash an FIR registered against him and others, actor Ranveer Singh and actress Deepika Padukone with Deedwana police station in Nagaur district of Rajasthan.The FIR was lodged with Deedwana police station on February 17, 2017 under Sections 153A and 295A of IPC. In the FIR, complainant Virendra Singh and Nagpal Singh have alleged that the movie threatened to disrupt communal harmony and would hurt the religious sentiments of a community.
