As per reports, the Banjara Hills police booked a case against Park Hyatt in Hyderabad for copyright violation, after the management of the hotel allegedly played audio tracks and videos of Bollywood films without acquiring proper permission.
The police registered a case on the orders of a city-based court, after Novex Communications moved a local magistrate. Novex which holds the on ground public performance rights of Zee Music, YRF, etc, had alleged in the complaint that no permission was sought from them by the 5- star hotel.
A case was booked under relevant sections of the Copyright Act, against Gayatri Hi-Tech Hotels Ltd.
